Early Childhood Programs
(Students who have never been enrolled in our district or any other)

When to go:
All students who are attending Kindergarten in Minnesota for the first time must be screened prior to enrollment. Call the Hibbing Early Learning Center for the times of upcoming screening and enrollment sessions as soon as your child is 3 years old. Registration for our early childhood programs generally opens in mid to late April for the following school year and will remain open until full.
What to bring:
• Official, government-issued birth certificate
• Official immunization records
What will happen:
You will need to complete a few simple forms:
• Enrollment Information Form
• Screening Information Forms
You will need to make an appointment for a required screening of your child at the time of enrollment.

When to go:
As soon as you establish residence in our district, Minnesota law requires your child to be enrolled in a school.
What to bring:
• The name, address, and phone number of your child’s previous school district
• Copy of Parent/Guardian's driver's license
• Official, government-issued birth certificate
• Official immunization records
What will happen:
You will need to complete the following forms:
• K-6 Enrollment Form
• Hibbing Public Schools Demographic Form
• Hibbing Public Schools Home Language Form
• Application for Educational Benefits
• Statewide Enrollment Options (Only if you live outside of the Hibbing district)
• ED 506 Student Eligibility Form (Native American students only)
• JOM Form with the title Johnson O'Malley Form (Native American students only)
What school your child will attend:
Beginning with the 2024-25 school year, those enrolled in Early Learning programs through 1st grade will be at the Washington Elementary. Those in grades 2-3 will be at the Greenhaven Elementary. Those in grades 4-7 will be at the Lincoln Middle School, and those in grades 8-12 will be at the High School.
